My name is Caroline M. Larsson and I have a passion and commitment to empower women and to make education a possibility to everyone worldwide. I am currently situated back in Sweden again after living in Southeast Asia for half a year. In the Philippines I lived in Tacloban, were I was teaching at a women’s shelter for women that have been through domestic abuse, trafficking or abandonment in the Philippines, where I also ended up teaching children at a rural school since they lack enough teachers. Thereafter I lived in Hanoi, Vietnam were I was working for a local NGO on a campaign on combating and spreading awareness regarding human trafficking. Before that I was teaching at a women’s shelter for women that have been through domestic abuse, trafficking or abandonment in the Philippines, where I also ended up teaching children at a rural school since they lack enough teachers.

I went volunteering directly after finishing my Bachelor in Business since I regard my education as an investment in myself, which I therefore want to share to others. I am passionate about giving everyone around the world the opportunity to education with a dedication of empowering women. I was, for a reason I still today cannot answer, born in a privileged, empowered society that made it possible for me to get education. I do not think that luck should be the reason whether or not you have access and opportunity to education.

These women, and those children that do not have any access to education, will contribute from volunteers. But they would contribute more if the issues received the attention they deserve, so that people in the rest of the world can get a more accurate picture of the situation in order to engage and advocate for change.

Even though it has been brought up by many prominent persons, somehow this issue still does not get the attention it deserves - which is the reason for why I try to do what I can in order to highlight it.
